Orchid Seed Flasking

How to send seed pods : We prefer green seed pod. Wrap seed pod in tissue paper (never in plastic bags or similar material. Moisture condensation will result in contamination). Provide identification name or number for each seed pod. It would be helpful for us to know the type of orchid. To post, place wrapped seed pod in padded envelop or box. Advisable to post early in the week rather than over the weekend by Poslaju or other courier services. An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent as soon as we receive the parcel.

Stage 1: Mother Flasks

RM25.00 / green pod (Please send payment together with seed pods)

An average of three mother flask will be sown from one green seed pod. We cannot guarantee the success of the flasking. The seed may not germinate or the germination can result in only few seedlings.

Stage 2: Re-planted flasks.

At this stage you would need to decide how many final flask you would need. Each flask containing 10-15 healthy plantlets will be shipped ready for de-flasking to community pots or thumb pots. Minimum order is 5 flask per cross/species.

(RM2.00 for returned flask)

Approximate time taken for green pod flasking will be 12-18 months.
